Young people will be talking about the issues that matter to them at Thanet Local Board's meeting next Tuesday, 13 October. They will mainly be focusing on Thanet's sports and leisure facilities, and bus and train services, and the meeting will be thrown open for questions from the floor.

Thanet Youth Council and Kent Youth County Council members will speak about about Making Democracy Work for Young People as the meeting has been arranged to coincide with Local Democracy Week. KCC and Thanet council officers will be on hand to answer questions.

The Turner Contemporary Gallery in Margate is developing a major exhibition entitled Teenager for its opening year in 2011 and there will be a presentation about the work they are doing with young people. There will also be an update on the Building Schools for the Future programme in Thanet.

The meeting at Hartsdown Technology College, George V Avenue, Margate, CT9 5RE, starts at 5.30pm. Doors open at 5pm and residents are welcome to attend to join in the discussion.
