KCC September Full Council Meeting Cancelled: "insufficient business to transact"10.19.53am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 24th Jul 2009 Kent County Council Chairman John Davies has written to County Councillors announcing that the full Council meeting planned for 3rd September has been cancelled. In a letter dated 24th July, he says: "I am writing to advise all Members that, following consultation with the three Group Leaders, I have taken the unusual step of cancelling the September meeting of the County Council. "Primarily, the reason for the cancellation is that there is insufficient business to transact. I am aware of only one main item, a policy document on Living Later Life to the Full, which will come to the October Council meeting. The September meeting was also scheduled to take place during August Bank Holiday week when I suspect a number of Members will want to take a late summer break; normally, the September Council meeting would take place 10 days after the Bank Holiday Monday.
